PinToMP4 privacy policy
Last updated: 2026-10-05
PinToMP4 is a free Chrome extension made by PostOnce. It saves Pinterest posts you choose to your computer. This policy explains what the extension can access, what it stores, and what it sends.
What the extension accesses
- Pinterest pages you open. The extension runs only on pinterest.com. It places a Download button beside posts and, when you click it, reads that post's media details from the page and from Pinterest's own servers, using the session already open in your browser.
- Media files. It downloads the video, audio or image files of the post you chose directly from Pinterest's servers and combines them inside your browser.
- Your downloads. It uses Chrome's downloads feature to save the file and to show it in your folder.
The extension does not read other websites, your browsing history, your Pinterest password, messages, or any post you didn't click Download on.
What stays on your computer
- Downloaded files are saved by Chrome to your downloads folder. They are never uploaded to PostOnce or anyone else.
- The extension keeps a small amount of local data in Chrome's extension storage: your settings (for example, whether you chose Not now on the review request) and the status of your latest download so it can recover if a tab closes. You can clear this in Help & privacy → Reset preferences, or by removing the extension.
What the extension sends to PostOnce
Nothing. The extension has no analytics or usage tracking. It doesn't send PostOnce, or anyone else, information about the posts you view or download.
Leaving a review
After a download, the extension may ask you to review it. If you click Leave a review, the extension's Chrome Web Store page opens in a new tab. Nothing about your download, file or Pinterest account is passed along. The extension stores only whether you clicked it or chose Not now, on your computer, so it doesn't keep asking.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or share data.
- We don't use data for advertising, creditworthiness or lending.
- We don't load remote code. All extension code is included in the package reviewed by the Chrome Web Store.
- We don't collect your Pinterest login. If Pinterest asks you to sign in or confirm you're human, you do that on Pinterest yourself.
Your responsibility
Only download posts you own or have permission to reuse. PinToMP4 is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Pinterest, Inc.
